Accepting New Patients in Texas, Oregon, and Washington State
The information below serves as a guide on what to expect after scheduling your initial consultation and the next steps in your care journey. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

After scheduling your initial consultation, you will receive an email containing intake and consent forms. To allow adequate time for reviewing your information before the appointment, please complete and submit all forms within 24 business hours of receiving them. Failure to do so may result in the need to reschedule your appointment.

You will receive appointment reminders with the date, time, and a secure link to join our HIPAA-compliant video session if virtual visit is chosen. Virtual appointments are currently conducted via Zoom. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend logging in 5-10 minutes early to test your connection and equipment. Please have your vital signs ready, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and your current height and weight. At your scheduled time, you will be automatically connected to our video session. In-person options available! Please contact to inquire.

Your first visit will be a consultation focused on evaluation. During this session, we’ll discuss your concerns and gather important information to understand your needs. Following the evaluation, we’ll provide initial impressions, a treatment plan, and recommendations, which may include therapy, medications, or holistic approaches as appropriate. Together, we’ll collaborate to create a plan tailored to addressing your concerns and improving your mental health
To communicate securely with our practice, please download the Spruce app on your phone. This app ensures that your medical information remains private while allowing for convenient communication. You can send a text directly through the app, and we typically respond within a few hours or by the next business day.
The booking link allows you to schedule, cancel, or reschedule an appointment. While follow-up appointments are typically scheduled during your visit, you can use this link if you need to make changes or book a new appointment. Please ensure you select whether you are a private pay or insurance pay patient, and choose the appropriate follow-up appointment category.
The patient portal is a secure online platform where you can access medical records, schedule appointments, and receive important documents and information. However, please note that all communication with the practice is handled through the Spruce app, as the messaging feature in the portal has been disabled.
Insurance can be confusing. Here are some key terms explained:
A fixed amount you pay for each appointment, such as $30 per visit.
The amount you pay out-of-pocket before your insurance starts covering services. Once you meet your deductible, your insurance kicks in.
After you’ve met your deductible, you might pay a percentage of the cost, such as 20%, while insurance pays 80%.
The most you’ll pay in a year. Once you hit this amount, insurance covers 100% of covered services.
In-network providers have negotiated rates with your insurance, which usually means lower costs for you. Out-of-network providers may cost more, but you might still get partial reimbursement.
