If you live in Austin and your schedule barely leaves room to breathe, or you’re a military family in Killeen managing a PCS and everything that comes with it, getting to an in-person psychiatric appointment is often the last thing you can realistically do. Telehealth psychiatry removes that barrier entirely.
Online psychiatry through CopeWell is a strong fit if you are:
I’m also licensed to provide telehealth in Oregon and Washington State. To receive care virtually, you’ll need to be physically located in Texas, Oregon, or Washington State at the time of your appointment.
My virtual appointments work exactly like in-person sessions, with the same dedicated time, the same provider every visit, and the same level of care, just from wherever you are.
See appointment types to understand what to expect for an initial evaluation versus follow-up appointments.
Telehealth psychiatry has expanded rapidly across Texas, and with that growth has come a wave of large platforms where patients are shuffled between providers, appointments feel rushed, and care feels transactional. CopeWell is intentionally different.
When you book with me, you see me at every appointment. Not a different provider each time. Not a rotating roster based on availability. I conducted your initial evaluation, and I’m the one reviewing your progress six months later. In a city like Austin, where building any kind of consistent relationship takes effort, that continuity matters.
Key differentiators that set CopeWell apart:
For military families in Killeen and Fort Cavazos who have experienced inconsistent care through frequent relocations, this model provides something genuinely rare: a provider who knows your history and builds on it rather than starting from scratch every few months.

Your first full appointment is a 60-minute virtual intake session. Dr. Udo will take time to understand your full picture: your history, your symptoms, your goals, and the context of your life, whether that’s a demanding role in Austin’s tech sector, the realities of military family life in Killeen, or anything in between. From this session, you’ll leave with clarity and the beginning of a personalized treatment plan.Begin Your Personalized Treatment
Ongoing care is built around your specific needs. Follow-up appointments can be 50 minutes for more complex or integrative work, or 25 minutes for stable patients managing well on their current plan. Treatment may include medication management, lifestyle coaching, and supportive therapy, adjusted over time as your needs evolve.Yes. Dr. Udo Chukwuocha can prescribe non-controlled psychiatric medications through telehealth appointments in Texas, Oregon, and Washington State. Prescribing of controlled substances via telehealth is subject to current federal and state regulations, which vary and may require an in-person visit depending on the medication and jurisdiction. This will be discussed clearly during your initial evaluation.
For the vast majority of psychiatric conditions, telehealth has been shown to be as effective as in-person treatment. Research consistently supports virtual psychiatric care for conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and PTSD, particularly when care is provided by a consistent provider over time. The CopeWell model is designed to preserve the relationship-based continuity that makes psychiatric treatment effective.

Insurance can be confusing. Here are some key terms explained:
A fixed amount you pay for each appointment, such as $30 per visit.
The amount you pay out-of-pocket before your insurance starts covering services. Once you meet your deductible, your insurance kicks in.
After you’ve met your deductible, you might pay a percentage of the cost, such as 20%, while insurance pays 80%.
The most you’ll pay in a year. Once you hit this amount, insurance covers 100% of covered services.
In-network providers have negotiated rates with your insurance, which usually means lower costs for you. Out-of-network providers may cost more, but you might still get partial reimbursement.
