ADHD Evaluation & Testing
in Texas, Oregon, and Washington
Difficulty focusing, staying organized, managing time, completing tasks, or controlling impulsive behaviors can affect work, school, relationships, and everyday life. While these challenges can be associated with ADHD, they can also occur with anxiety, depression, sleep problems, stress, and other conditions. At CopeWell Psychiatry & Wellness, we provide comprehensive adult ADHD evaluations that combine clinical assessment with objective computerized testing to help bring greater clarity to your symptoms and determine appropriate next steps.
What is an ADHD Evaluation & Testing?
An ADHD evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to determine whether your symptoms and history are consistent with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. At CopeWell, the evaluation considers your current symptoms, developmental and mental health history, functioning at work or school, relationships, previous treatment, and other factors that may affect attention and executive functioning. We also incorporate QbCheck, an FDA cleared computerized assessment that objectively measures attention, impulsivity, and activity. Results are compared with a normative group based on age and sex at birth and provide additional data that can support clinical decision making. QbCheck does not diagnose ADHD on its own and is interpreted as one part of the comprehensive evaluation.
Your ADHD Evaluation: What to Expect
If ADHD is diagnosed, treatment recommendations may include medication management, behavioral and lifestyle strategies, supportive psychotherapy, or referral for additional services when appropriate.

Comprehensive Clinical Assessment
Your evaluation begins with an in depth discussion of your symptoms, developmental history, mental health and medical history, previous treatment, and how difficulties with attention, organization, impulsivity, or activity affect your everyday functioning.

ADHD Screening & Rating Scales
Standardized ADHD screening tools and rating scales may be used to better understand your symptoms and how frequently they occur. Additional information or records may also be requested when clinically appropriate.

Objective QbCheck Testing
QbCheck provides objective information about attention, impulsivity, and activity through a brief computerized task. The assessment typically takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes and compares your performance with a normative group of individuals of the same age and sex at birth.

Results Review & Treatment Planning
Your QbCheck results are interpreted alongside your clinical interview, rating scales, history, and other relevant information. We will review the findings with you, discuss whether your presentation is consistent with ADHD or whether another condition may better explain your symptoms, and recommend appropriate next steps.

Who May Benefit From an ADHD Evaluation?
-
An ADHD evaluation may be helpful for adults who experience persistent difficulties with attention, concentration, organization, time management, procrastination, forgetfulness, impulsivity, or completing tasks.
-
It may also be appropriate if you have wondered whether ADHD could explain longstanding challenges at work, school, home, or in relationships, or if you previously received an ADHD diagnosis but would like a more comprehensive evaluation before beginning or changing treatment.
Benefits of ADHD Evaluation & Testing
Receiving a formal ADHD diagnosis can be a transformative step, providing validation and a clear direction for managing symptoms effectively. This clarity unlocks access to targeted treatments and support systems that can significantly improve your quality of life.
Better Understanding of Your Symptoms
For many adults, understanding why they have struggled with certain patterns can provide valuable context. Your evaluation gives you an opportunity to discuss your results, ask questions, and better understand how your symptoms may be affecting different areas of your life.
Objective Information
QbCheck adds standardized, measurable information about attention, impulsivity, and activity to the clinical assessment rather than relying solely on self reported symptoms.
Personalized Treatment Planning
Understanding your symptoms and how they affect your daily functioning provides a stronger foundation for developing an individualized treatment plan.
Greater Diagnostic Clarity
A comprehensive evaluation helps determine whether your symptoms are consistent with ADHD while also considering other conditions or factors that may cause similar difficulties.
