Psychiatric Evaluation
in Texas, Oregon, and Washington
CopeWell Psychiatry & Wellness offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adults in Texas, Oregon, and Washington. During a 60-minute visit, Dr. Udo reviews your symptoms, history, past treatments, and goals to reach a clear diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan. Visits are available in person in Killeen or by secure video telehealth.
What Is a Psychiatric Evaluation?
A psychiatric evaluation is an in-depth assessment by a psychiatric provider that looks at your mood, thinking, behavior, and overall health. It brings together your current symptoms, mental health and medical history, previous treatments and medications, family history, and lifestyle. The result is a working diagnosis and a clear recommendation for next steps, such as medication management, ADHD testing, or coordination with a therapist.
What to Expect During Your Evaluation
Your evaluation is a conversation, not a test you can pass or fail. We take the time to listen, ask focused questions, and explain what we find in plain language, so you leave with a clear understanding of your next steps.

Before Your Visit
Start with a complimentary 15-minute consultation to make sure our practice is the right fit. Before your evaluation, gather a list of your current medications, past treatments, and any notes or questions about your symptoms you want to share.

Your 60-Minute Evaluation
Dr. Udo will review your symptoms and how long they have been present, your personal and family history, previous treatments and medications, sleep, stress, and lifestyle, along with the goals you want to reach through care.

Diagnosis and Treatment Plan
At the end of your evaluation, we share our findings and discuss a diagnosis when one is appropriate. Together, we build an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, integrative strategies, further testing, or a referral to therapy.

Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up appointments let us see how you are responding, adjust your plan, and answer new questions. If you work with a therapist or primary care provider, we can coordinate with them so your care stays connected.

Who Can Benefit From a Psychiatric Evaluation?
-
Adults ages 17 to 64 with ongoing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or mood changes.
-
Anyone who wants a clear diagnosis before starting or changing medication.
-
Adults with focus, attention, or sleep concerns who want to understand the cause.
-
People whose current treatment is not working and who want a fresh, thorough assessment.
Benefits of a Psychiatric Evaluation
A thorough evaluation gives you and your provider a shared understanding of what you are experiencing, so treatment decisions are based on the full picture rather than guesswork.
Many conditions share symptoms. A careful evaluation helps separate depression from bipolar disorder, anxiety from ADHD, and everyday stress from a treatable condition, so your care targets the real cause.
Your plan is built around your history, your goals, and what has or has not worked for you before, instead of a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care.
Reviewing your current medications, medical history, and past side effects helps us recommend options that fit your overall health and lower the risk of interactions.
Your evaluation sets a baseline we can measure against at every follow-up visit, making it easier to see what is improving and what still needs adjusting.
